Last year I decided to experiment with some pollen I had around the greenhouse. I wanted to see what would happen if I crossed a Forgetii inflorescence with Clarinervium pollen. The Forgetii is known for its smooth, continuous leaf margin and the absence of a sinus, while Clarinervium boasts heart-shaped leaves with bold veins and a pronounced sinus. So, naturally, I wondered what would happen if I combined the two.
I harvested a few seeds and have been letting them grow out in the greenhouse. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this interesting specimen! The leaf shape is unusual to say the least. The sinus appears almost “folded,” creating a really intriguing and unusual leaf shape.

I’m wondering whether this is a true unique hybrid with traits from both parents, or just a genetic anomaly. Time will tell as this little oddity grows. I have one more specimen in the greenhouse that is showing similar traits!
